  • Western Union is an international service that allows money to be sent securely internationally.

  • How to send money to Manahi:

    •                          To find Western Union’s physical partner sites near you

    •                          To send money from the website

  • Steps:

    • Create an account by providing personal information, such as your name, address, and phone number.

    • Provide the following information about the receiver:

      • Country: Ecuador

      • How the receiver will receive the money: cash pickup

      • The quantity of money you will be sending (the currency in Ecuador is US dollars)

      • Name of receiver: Celia Manahi Carrascal Yamberla

    • After payment is made, you will receive a receipt with a code that Manahi must enter to collect the money. Please contact Manahi with these values via WhatsApp at: +593939203644. Manahi speaks Spanish and Kichwa.

    • Manahi will respond (in Spanish) when she receives the money and how the Brigade utilizes it.

  • "Celia Manahi" under first name

  • "Carrascal" under first surname

  • "Yamberla" under second surname

  • **Triple check the spelling, as a misspelled name is the most likely cause of the money transfer not functioning properly

  • Send a maximum of $990 per transfer. If you send more, they will ask for your passport and charge more than the $5-6 transfer fee.

  • Don't use a post office box as your home address.

Tips for Donating

What your donation will pay for:

*All services provided by the Brigada 14 de Octubre are provided free of charge. However, the Brigade is raising funds for services they are unable to provide to their patients.

**The Brigade members are traveling as far as 40 minutes outside of the city to care for their patients in the safety of their own homes. A 40 minute round trip on rural roads costs ~$30.

  • Prescriptions: $50-100

  • *Physical rehabilitation for fractures: $200

  • Materials for dental surgeries: $200

  • **Gasoline for home visits in rural areas

  • 1 month of water and light utilities: $20

  • Food for families with food insecurity
